The Half-Century-Old Chinuch Article Still Relevant Today
12+ hour, 37+ min ago (971+ words) " " " | December 2, 2025 Fifty years ago, an article marking Shnas HaChinuch was published, after being edited by the Rebbe. Brimming with storytelling, humor, and insights " the article is filled with vivid examples of the fashions, styles, and quirks of the era. Though trends have changed, its timeless messages remain as relevant and powerful today as they were then. New Nigun Brings Reb Hillel Paritcher’s Hergesh to Life
16+ hour, 21+ min ago (196+ words) " " " | December 2, 2025 Reb Hillel of Paritch, one of the great mashpiim of Chabad and a chossid of the Alter Rebbe, the Mitteler Rebbe, and the Tzemach Tzedek, was known not only for his tremendous strength in Torah and avoda, but also for his remarkable greatness in nigunim. One of the primary ways Reb Hillel educated the young avreichim whom our Rebbeim would send to him was by teaching them nigunei Chabad and how to sing them with true hergesh halev. Many nigunim were sung at Reb Hillel's table on various occasions, and according to tradition, ten of the nigunim sung today are attributed to him as his own compositions. The Sefer Hanigunim writes about the nigunim of Reb Hillel: "Great was Rabbi Hillel's power in…...

Rabbi Pewzner, mashpia in the Morristown Yeshiva and author of several books on Chassidus, opened with a simple show-and-tell: his children's Sefer Torah costumes. It set the tone for his message.
