Gratitude: What a glorious way to end 2025!
18+ hour, 25+ min ago (278+ words) By Patrick Sassou ABAH-DAKOU This morning, I was reflecting on 2025 and planning for 2026. It just dawned on me that instead of being in a hurry to start planning and visioning 2026, I need to pause, take stock and count my blessings for 2025. The purpose of this article is to help us experience the benefits of gratitude by ending 2025 with thanksgiving and a heart full of gratitude, rather than one filled with regret. Gratitude derives from the Latin word gratus, which means "thankful, pleasing." Gratitude enhances your awareness of others, making them feel valued and appreciated. "A person who feels appreciated will always do more than is expected," states Brigette Hyacinth. Gratitude brings contentment, as the German philosopher Kent observed: "It is funny about life: once you begin to take note of the things you are grateful for, you start to lose…...
Kunsu Slave Caves: From silent suffering to sacred sanctuary
6+ day, 2+ hour ago (435+ words) By Edward Adjei FRIMPONG Traditional authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the Kunsu Slave Caves'natural dungeons that safeguard cultural memory and identity. The caves, locally known as "Bougyema, meaning "rocks that harbour people," were once used by the forefathers of Kunsu to hide women and children during war before the slave masters adopted the space for enslaved captives. For years, the slave caves'spanning roughly two kilometres in circumference'were abandoned, frequently ravaged by bushfires, home to swarms of bees and pythons. This neglect informed the decision to lease the site to a private developer to transform it into a blended prayer sanctuary and ecotourism site. A tour guide and community leader, Joseph Asiedu, who conducted journalists round, said: "Despite regular tourist visits over the years, there was minimal government intervention to preserve or improve the site. This influenced the chiefs…...

2+ week, 1+ day ago (372+ words) A seismic shift in ministry is taking shape as Financial Evangelism Ministries prepares to host the "Pastors in Business Summit" in Accra on November 29, 2025. The summit seeks to build business acumen in the clergy to be able to build businesses while shepherding their congregations. The summit aims to change the image of a pastor focused solely on spiritual matters. The organisers" noted that gone are the days when a pastor"s career was a novelty, maintaining that success in the pulpit does not automatically translate to success in the marketplace. Recognising this, Financial Evangelism Ministries is hosting the summit to provide pastors with the essential tools, strategies and community needed to navigate their dual roles. The Beijing conference and the gospel’s mandate
2+ week, 5+ day ago (878+ words) By Rev'd Fiifi AFENYI-DONKOR As the world observes Beijing + 30, the Church is summoned not merely to commemorate social progress but to embrace theological renewal. For Christians, women's empowerment is not only a social aspiration; it is a gospel mandate. Beijing's Promise and the Unfinished Task The 2025 UN Commission on the Status of Women reminds us that our crisis is not in commitment but in implementation. Similarly, Aspiration 6 of Africa's Agenda 2063 envisions "an Africa whose development is people-driven, relying on the potential of African people, especially its women and youth." For the Church, therefore, empowering women is not benevolence but an act of divine justice. The gospel demands the visible restoration of dignity to those long marginalized. Though Beijing's vision was global, its fruit has been local, shaping policy, faith, and leadership across nations such as Ghana. Ghana's engagement with the…...
Faith, values, and the economy: Building a morally grounded framework for sustainable stability
3+ week, 2+ day ago (351+ words) By Rev. Hedwig Naa Tolloo QUIST Ghana's struggle with currency instability continues to shape our national conversation. While policymakers and economists debate financial discipline, and currency value addition we must remember that sustainable economic stability is not only a financial or policy issue. It is also a moral and ethical issue. The value of a nation's currency ultimately mirrors the values of its people. When honesty, discipline, stewardship, and the fear of God, become national habits, they create an environment where economic systems can thrive. The moral foundation of economic stability As a faith-based community, we recognise that values drive systems. Ethical leadership in faith-based, public and private sectors produces growth. Without moral, and spiritual discipline, financial discipline is unsustainable. The church as a partner in national development The conversation on "value addition" must go beyond production to include values....
