The Red Kettle 5K Run will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday at Town Square Park. It's the kickoff for the annual kettle campaign, which raises funds for year-round programs to help local families in need. Proceeds from the 5K race will be used to fund a Thanksgiving Community Dinner at the Salvation Army on Nov. 20. "It's all about hope, the hope we have in Jesus Christ," said Capt. Nathaniel Revaula, corps officer for the Hattiesburg Salvation Army. Red kettles will be at 14 locations in Hattiesburg through Christmas Eve.
